If you have a video playing in MX player and want additional details about it then you can view it in the properties. It is available under ⋮ > Tools > Properties. The properties screen will give you file information such as file location, size, date and media information such as format, resolution, and length. There’s also an option to access more detailed information such as video codec, frame rate, bit rate, audio codec, sample rate and audio bit rate.
Here are the detailed steps to access media information in MX Player:
- Open a video in MX Player for which you want the media details
- Tap on ⋮ (three dots) on the top-right
- Go to Tools > Properties
- Tap on ☑ More to display additional video and audio stream properties

As you can see, you get the file and media information by default. They are just the basic ones that contain the location, filename, size, and date as well as format, resolution, and length. When you hit More, you get the properties of audio and video streams. There might be more than shown in the example above if you have dual audio, for example.
In the additional properties, you get details for the video as well as the audio. For video, you get type, codec, profile, resolution, frame rate, bit rate, language, and encoding. For audio, you get type, codec, profile, sample rate, channels, bit rate and language.
